Creative friday - Happy new year!!

To start: we wish you all a beautifull, healthy and funfull 2011!!
Inspired by one of my fav blogs, where people are inspired to share there creative outlets every friday, here my creative-ness. You might remember the jarsock

Well, I made two more, and one is hanging on the needles.

Nice pair (bad pic quality due to little light for the phone-camera)
Today Mare played with her friend Benthe, but as they are now big enough to play alone upstairs in her room, the mummy's could do some crafting. I made these two fish
Together with these fish They will be Mares giveaway's on her birthday at pre-school.
To finish, I was spoild on my birthday with this amazing yarn (Rowan Drift) 100% merino. I am making it into a nice scarf by this patern. Using needles 12 mm wow that is big!

Onze kerstdagen - Our christmas

Boxingday Mare and daddy went to aa little lake nearby. You could sleigh down the hill onto the ice there.
This wasn't their own idea, but Jorien's. Here sister and 3 children went there on christmas day too, and invited us the next day.

Ze hebben het heerlijk gehad
They had a fabulous time!
At home we painted wet in wet for the first time. I love that because the colours stay so bright when you use it. When I was in Waldorf school we had a type of paint that I couldn't find now, but i used some other waterbased colours.
Mare loved to watch the colours run over the paper.
En mijn laatste crea-bea project: de potsok
And my latest crafty project: the jarsock
I was inspired by this patern, i didn't use it though, i made it custom fit to my jar.
I think it does look quit trendy.

Merry Christmas!!!

First of all, a very very mery christmas for everyone!!
This picture of Mare might not be her best, but for those who know her, can probably see that her hair is cut!! This christmas morning Mare had her first haircut. Bart and I can't stop looking at her and saying.... she looks so good!!! Whahahha
This morning Mare woke up very early, she came to our bed, and we had the best christmas morning, just plaing in the bed, reading books and making fun.
Lateer today we will visit Barts family, but for now we enjoy being with just us!

Yesterday three friends came over to make a felt doll. They are teachers too, just like me, and always liked the waldorf dolls i have in my class. They wanted to make something for their class too. So we decided to make a simple king-winter. This was the example, I made a couple of years ago.

This is the one I made yesterday. (There are no pictures of the other ones because it was dark when they were ready, and I still have no camera, the phone camera doesn't work in the dark)

I really liked the crown of the new king winter, so I made a new crown for the old king. I will probably give one king to mare's pre-school.... but wich one should i choose???
As a gift one of my friends yesterday brought a kit for making these elfes. When Mare saw them this morning she insisted on me making them right away.
What a way to start christmas morning. All relaxed with the little one making dolls.
Enjoy your days!!!

Life at the geweerstraat

It has been extremely quiet at the geweerstraat. Our camera broke, and that means no pic's. And be honoust what is a blog without pic's?
Well we still have to figure out wether we get it reapired or have to buy a new one. In the mean time we boroughed my mums camera and found out that my telephone makes quit nice pictures too!
Lets start where we stopped last time. It was sinterklaas!! And Mare got a sinterklaas cloak. I made her a Mijter to go with that, and she absolutely loved it!
First she got to celebrate sinterklaas at her pre-school! That was so much fun, they visited her school, and brought presents and pepernoten for all the children!

The children were alowed to dress up, all the other children were dressed as black Peters, so she stood out....
Then we celebrated sinterklaas here at our home. My mother, sister and brother in law came here and sinterklaas brought us a big pile of presents.
The opening of the presents was the best part of the celebration!
It all goes so fast because a bit more then a week later there was a christmas celebration. At both Bart and my school, but also at Mare's school! So she got to dress up all nicely and had diner with all the other 2 and 3 year olds. The parents were not alowed to stay, they could come again after an hour!
And were surprised with a dance the children made for all the parents. I was very sad to miss this all because I had christmas diner at my own school, Bart was there to see it all, and he enjoyed our big girl very much!!
Bye bye sweet children see you in 2011!!

Now we all are enjoying our hollidays, wich for me means I can finally get some time to clean thoe places that really need cleaning! I cleaned the lamp shades and the spice-reck. Mare likes to take over a good idea.... :)
She decided all by her self that she should clean the kitchen floor!!
In the mean time the wintery weather is back. Right after sinterklaas the snow and the freezing stopped for a few days but it totally came back again, the snow stopped now again, but because it hardly gets warmer then 0 degrees celsius, it all stays in the streets. We have amazing ice sculptures everywhere!
Here Mare is playing with the neighbour on our sled.
If you wonder who the other passenger is, it is my doll that Mare took over.... :)
The wintery weather and the fact taht we don't have to work are also good reasons to do some crafting. Mare and I paint and glitter a lot, and i get to knit up left over bits and pieces. MAde this little hat for.... don't know just made it.
AAnd tonight I made this mirror together with my friend Jorien. She has a pink toilet seat and here complete toilet is now decorated in pink. Big reason to make this terribly ugly but so great mirror. We had the best time, with some plastic flowers and an old mirror that lay in my attic. We both loved it and just couldn't stop looking at it :))
For a while I tried to keep 2 blogs, one with my creative outlets and one about Mare. But i decided to make it all one blog where you can just read about our live at the geweerstraat.
